We all look forward to retirement. But retirement brings some surprising dynamics no matter who we are or what profession we exit.

Retirement removes a familiar and authentic community.
It takes effort to maintain those bonds developed over years and decades.

There’s a popular lament being with “work family” more than our blood tie relatives.
Tricky then is the emotion that continues pulling us back to that work family, with anticipation.
