With North America’s water and wastewater infrastructure grading out as “mediocre” and “poor,” the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offered its top suggestions to address the issue. The recommendations included a focus on asset management to extend facility life.

Notably, the Algonquin reclamation plant intakes three to four million gallons of wastewater each day. It is then stripped of solid waste, purified and eventually released into the Fox River.
